Our Mission is to provide single mothers and their young child(ren) a safe and secure environment in which to achieve self-sufficiency through education, vocational training and personal growth. Priority is given to mothers who are currently homeless or in another shelter.
This is a two year program and applicants are accepted based on availability, need, and a determination by the Caseworkers and Program Director that this particular program will benefit the person applying.
Available only to our residents, Children First runs an Early Head Start program on-site at Our Mother's House. These teachers, in addition to our volunteers, ensure that the children are cared for while their mothers are at school or work. Thanks to this program, the children gain the skills and abilities they need to enter the public school system.
